MARISA KING-REDWOOD has had entrepreneurial interest from day one. Born Marisa King, this daughter of an Orthopedic Surgeon and a Registered Nurse, was raised in the heart of Greenwich Village NYC and always knew that success was the only option. Watching her two brothers in admiration, one an attorney and the other a Marketing VP for a Fortune 500, Marisa knew she needed to get started early- at 16 years of age, she self-incorporated her first business, and she’s been working ever since.

Marisa gained her knowledge and experience hands on, having worked within the entertainment industry during college, where she earned her degree in Marketing, followed by positions at several prestigious companies.  In addition, over the years, as a Consultant, Maris Add Mediaa has assisted in the creation and implementation of both urban and general marketing and PR campaigns for H.I.P., Coca-Cola and Citigate Financial Intelligence, enabling the companies to better reach their target market.

In 2003, with adequate experience under her belt and the determination to make it on her own, Buzz Brand Marketing was born. Buzz is boutique marketing and PR agency that focuses on building brand equity and that boasts a client list including The HBO New York International Latino Film Festival, Doubletree Hotels, author and activist Kevin Powell, award winning choreographer Travis Payne, Brooklyn Fashion Weekend and some top names in business and entertainment. As CEO, Marisa has leveraged her relationships throughout the industries to provide effective business solutions for companies to increase overall productivity and their presence in the media through brand development and publicity.

All of this work is clearly paying off as Marisa has appeared in Latina Magazine and been ranked among top business leaders in the nation with her inclusion as one of the 2006/2007 Cambridge Who’s Who Executives of the year, included on the 2007 40 Under Forty list presented by The Network Journal Magazine and in 2009 received the President’s Corporate Entrepreneur of the year award from the Professional’s Network Organization.  This year, Marisa and her nephew, Daniel W. King IV teamed up to launch a non-profit organization, The King Foundation for Excellence in honor of Daniel W. King, Jr. and all of the successful family members that came before them.

Even with all of that, Marisa, taking after her father, still remains most proud of her family and cherishes the time she spends with them and her close friends.
